Severe Winter Weather Continues to Cause Issues Across the Nation

The bad winter weather continues to claim lives and cause massive issues for millions of Americans. As of last night, at least 26 people have been killed as a result of the winter storm. This includes several who died of hypothermia, three people in North Carolina who died after a tornado hit, as well as numerous other fatal vehicle-related accidents. Three people in Texas died from carbon monoxide poisoning while sitting in their running cars in their closed garages trying to stay warm. Four other family members, also in Texas, passed away in a house fire while using a fireplace to stay warm. Texas remains to be the worst hit state by far, with the majority of the rolling blackouts reported there. The record-breaking cold temperatures and snow has left the power grids overwhelmed. Some areas have been without power for days with no clear end in sight as to when power and water will be restored. The issue has become so dire, that Governor Greg Abbott has issued an executive order demanding an investigation into the cause and potential preventative solutions for the future.
