Former NFL Player Found Dead in Florida Hotel
A former NFL player was discovered dead inside a Florida hotel last night. Vincent Jackson was initially reported missing last Wednesday by his family. He was located two days later at a Homewood Suites Brandon in the Tampa area. He had been staying at the hotel since January. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spoke with him and after confirming his well-being, canceled the missing persons report. The 38-year-old was then found deceased last night by a housekeeper. The medical examiner has yet to determine the cause, but said there was “no sign of trauma.” Jackson began his career in 2005 with the San Diego Chargers before being drafted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012. He retired two years ago, having scored 57 touchdowns by that time. After leaving the NFL he decided to stay in Florida. In an official statement, the Buccaneers described Jackson as a “dedicated father, husband and philanthropist.” Many who knew him say they are shocked by the news.
