Gov. Cuomo Says Indoor Dining and Large Venues Can Reopen
Governor Andrew Cuomo has good news for New Yorkers. Cuomo announced reopening plans for various venues in the state. Restaurants will be allowed to resume limited indoor dining tomorrow. That’s two days sooner than the original plan to allow limited indoor dining beginning on Valentine’s Day. The governor says the earlier start date will give restaurants time to get their staffing and supplies ready for the weekend. Under the guidelines for indoor dining, restaurants will have to cap indoor capacity at 25 percent. The governor also took a moment to address the covid numbers, saying cases are going down and he congratulated residents for their patience and work to help fight the spread. Cuomo also announced that he will extend the testing-based program to any large stadium or arena later this month. People who provide a negative test within 72 hours of an event will be able to attend music shows and performances as well as baseball, soccer, football and basketball games. Arenas will be able to open to the public on February 23rd.
