Georgetown County Polar Plunges Raises Thousands for Good Cause
On Saturday morning Georgetown County officials braved cold ocean temperatures for a good cause. This weekend’s Polar Plunge event was held at Litchfield Beach. It was hosted by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, in assistance with Georgetown County Emergency Management and Midway Fire Rescue. This was the county’s first polar plunge event and as of Saturday, they raised over $13,000 in donations. The money will benefit Special Olympics South Carolina.
