Three Idaho National Guardsmen Killed In Helicopter Crash

Three National Guard members were killed after their helicopter crashed in Idaho. The three pilots were conducting a routine flight training mission in the southern part of the state Tuesday evening. The last contact anyone aboard the craft had with their base was when an emergency transmitter locator was activated around 8 p.m. This immediately launched a search. The wreck, and the victims, were found just south of Boise at about 12:15 a.m. yesterday morning.
The identities of the deceased have not been released as of now, pending notification to next of kin. The cause of the crash also has yet to be determined. Major General Michael Garshak, who is the commander of the Idaho National Guard, said “this is a tremendous loss to the Idaho National Guard and our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones as we work through this tragedy.”
