North Myrtle Beach Flea Market Damaged in Three-Alarm Fire

UPDATE: the fire has since been ruled accidental. No additional details have been made available.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a three-alarm fire at the North Myrtle Beach Flea Market. The fire broke out at yesterday around 2 p.m. between the intersections of Highways 90 and 9, along Highway 17. One person was treated for minor injuries and was not hospitalized but the structure itself suffered extensive damage, especially to its garage doors. The fire was put out in two hours but several lanes of Highway 17 were closed as fire crews worked into the evening. It’s still unclear what caused the fire.
