FBI Agents Killed While Serving Search Warrant in Florida
Two FBI agents are dead and three others injured after attempting to serve a warrant in Florida yesterday. The incident unfolded around 6 a.m. at a residence in Sunrise. The search warrant was looking to seize evidence in connection to a suspected “violent crimes against children case.” Agents first knocked on the door to announce their presence but went unanswered. They then breached the door and were met with heavy rifle fire. Law enforcement immediately swarmed the area and the unidentified suspect died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. During the shooting, agents Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger were killed. Both had worked with the FBI in Miami and were involved with crimes against children for at least 6 years. They are both also survived by spouses and children. Three other agents were transported to a hospital for their injuries. Two of them are in stable condition, with the third already released. This is said to be one of the deadliest days for the FBI in decades.
