HCFR Volunteer Killed in Motorcycle Accident

An Horry County Fire and Rescue volunteer was killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. The incident occurred Saturday afternoon on the 400 block of Holmestown Road. The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed 20-year-old Timothy Hurney was driving eastbound on his Harley Davidson when he struck a Volkswagon turning onto Edenborough Drive. He was wearing a helmet but died on scene as a result of his injuries. Hurney was a volunteer with HCFR at Station 20 on Scipio Lane.
