South Carolina Officials Warn of Coronavirus Vaccine-Related Scams

Governor McMaster hopes to make coronavirus vaccines available to those age 65 and older soon. The state is also set to receive more vaccine doses as well. While this is all good news, some South Carolina officials are warning of Covid vaccine-related scams. DHEC, SLED, SCEMD, and the Department of Consumer Affairs issued the advisory yesterday. Residents should not give out any money to anyone over the phone. Personal information should also only be shared with an approved vaccine provider when making an actual appointment. Anybody whose been contacted for a potential scam is asked to call local authorities, file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission.
