Mask Mandate Extended for Georgetown County
Georgetown County has extended it’s state of emergency and mask ordinance. Yesterday, the Georgetown County Council voted unanimously to extend the state of emergency and mask requirement until March 9th. All people above the age of 10 are required to wear a face covering while entering a restaurant, grocery store, retail store or pharmacy located within the corporate boundaries of the county. All restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops and pharmacies must require employees to wear face coverings at all times while interacting with the public. Any individual unable to wear the covering due to age, health condition or is unable to remove the covering themselves is exempt from the ordinance. Individuals whose religious belief prevent them from wearing the covers are also exempt.
