President Biden Hits Ground Running With Slew of Executive Orders

Now that the celebrations have come to a close, the real work begins for President Biden. Hours after being inaugurated, he signed over a dozen executive orders, many of which reversed decisions instated during the Trump Administration’s reign. In one afternoon, he rejoined the Paris Climate Accord, reengaged the U.S. with the World Health Organization, temporarily halted border wall construction and most deportations, implemented a mask mandate on all federal properties, extended eviction and foreclosure moratoriums as well as a pause on student loans, and much more. For his first 100 days in office, President Biden has laid out an aggressive plan to continue these efforts. For his first full day in office, President Biden will sign an additional ten orders which target different but crucial areas in order to combat the pandemic. He will utilize the defense production act to ramp up production of Covid-19 vaccinations, expand testing by creating more sites, and detailed a plan to safely reopen the majority of schools by his first 100 days.
