DHEC Offers New Guidance to Help Accelerate Vaccination Efforts

DHEC is now offering new guidance to help accelerate vaccination efforts statewide. This includes confirmation that ‘every dose of the vaccines should be used.’ Prior to this, some hospitals were holding onto doses before receiving their next shipments. Other new guidance includes ordering first and second doses separately and asking providers to hold off on large-scale vaccination events before first consulting with DHEC to ensure that a sufficient number doses would be available. Clinics should also only be administering vaccines by appointment.
