Trump Gives Final Farewell Addresses, Biden Says Goodbye to Delaware

Goodbyes

In preparation for today’s inauguration, both former President Trump and President Biden delivered final remarks. In his farewell address to the nation last night, President Trump called on Americans to pray for the success of the incoming administration in order to keep “America safe and prosperous.” He also highlighted his accomplishments over the last four years. At his departure speech this morning in front of Air Force One, he further wished Biden’s administration great luck and success and promised to continue fighting for America. Meanwhile, President Biden wished his home state of Delaware a goodbye before making his way to Washington, D.C. In his tearful speech he thanked his constituents and remembered his late son Beau who died of brain cancer in 2015. Biden finished the speech by saying, “excuse the emotion, but when I die, Delaware will be written on my heart.” He and Vice President Kamala Harris, and their spouses, ended the evening by attending a memorial which was dedicated to the over 400,000 victims of Covid-19.
