Former Myrtle Beach Mayor Passes Away From Covid-19

A former Myrtle Beach mayor has passed away this weekend after a battle with Covid-19. It was confirmed on Saturday that former Mayor John Rhodes passed away. He served the city for 12 years before losing re-election to current Mayor Brenda Bethune in 2017. Since his passing, many have taken to social media to remember the many good things Rhodes did for his community. This includes Senator Lindsey Graham who said “he was a great friend who was always there for his constituents. He dedicated so much of his life to his beloved myrtle beach.”
