National Lottery Jackpots Continue to Grow as No Winners Named in Months

Two of the nation’s biggest lottery jackpots are reaching new highs as no winners have been named in months. Last night’s Powerball jackpot was worth at least $550 million, making it the fifth-largest in U.S. history. The Mega Millions jackpot is even more impressive growing to $750 million ahead of tomorrow night’s drawing, making it the second largest ever. This is also only the second time in history that both of the national lottery games have topped $500 million at the same time. While there’s yet to be a big winner, at least one person from Virginia won $2 million. Ten $1 million tickets were also won throughout California, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New York and taxes. However, odds of winning either jackpot are incredibly small. Chances of winning the Powerball are reportedly one in 292.2 million. The Mega Millions are even more improbable with a likelihood of winning being one in 302.5 million.
