Horry County Sees Low Employment Rate

Horry County’s employment rate is the lowest it’s been since 2016. The South Carolina department of employment and workforce said part of the reason is because people stopped looking for jobs after receiving unemployment benefits which boosted the unemployment rate. That rate improving dropped the employment rate by about 3%. 3,000 more people stopped working this November compared to the same month last year.
