Myrtle Beach Man Threatens to Kill Officer After Being Arrested

A man was arrested after threatening to kill an Horry County police officer. 29-year-old Johnathan Bennett allegedly got into an argument with another man on December 23rd. The victim told officers Bennett punched him in the face after becoming angry. Bennett told officers that the victim was choking him, which is why he struck him. While the officer was getting the victim’s information, Bennett then grabbed a 12-pack of mountain dew and threw it at the victims car resulting in damage to the hood. The officers then arrested him for disorderly conduct. Once he was placed in the cruiser, he began kicking and banging his head inside the car, the officer removed Bennett from the vehicle and that’s when he threatened him twice then turned and spit on another officer. He was taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he remains on a $7,500 bond.
