House Voted to Override Veto of National Defense Authorization Act
It’s now up to the u-s senate to determine if congress will override President Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act.
The House revisited the measure last night and passed it 322 to 87. Originally, the Senate approved it with a veto-proof majority but, now republicans are in a tough position. They have to choose between siding with the President or setting defense policy for the country. The bill provides raises for service members, modernizes equipment and requires more scrutiny for certain troop movements. President Trump says he doesn’t like it because of the liability protections it gives internet companies. The bill also limits how much money trump can reallocate for the southern border wall and makes the military remove the names of confederate figures from bases.
