Myrtle Beach Council Selects New City Manager

The city of Myrtle Beach has selected a new city manager in a unanimous vote. The city’s current deputy city manager Jonathan “Fox” Simons Jr. was selected by the council to succeed outgoing manager John Pedersen during yesterday’s vote. Simons has been with the city since 2015 and aided in the major undertaking of redeveloping the downtown area. He and the city council will now enter into contract negotiations. If an agreement is met, Simons will formally begin his duties on January 7th.
