Worst Snowstorm in Years Hits East Coast, Turns Deadly

The major winter storm named Gail that targeted the Northeast turned deadly yesterday. As predicted, in less than 24 hours over a dozen states received large amounts of snow that’s created mass scenes of chaos across the region. A car pileup that consisted of anywhere between 30 and 60 cars occurred on a Pennsylvania Interstate. At least two people were killed and multiple others injured. A second massive car pileup also occurred in New York City. 27 cars were involved with six people hospitalized, four of which are facing serious injuries. Up to 60 million east coast residents spread over 1,000 miles are under storm warnings or advisories as the biggest snow storm in years continues it’s course. So far Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are under states of emergency. Nearly 1,500 flights and some rail services have already been cancelled or suspended. As the snow continues to fall, experts suggest it will get worse, with some areas expected to receive up to two feet.
