Healthcare Workers at CMC Among First Americans to Receive Covid-19 Vaccine

In lighter news, healthcare workers with Conway Medical Center became the first to receive the newly approved coronavirus vaccine yesterday. The first shipment of 975 doses arrived in Horry County at 9 a.m. Director of Cardiology, Dr. Stephen Brady, was the first to be inoculated. He was followed by several others. All will have to receive their second dose in 21 days. Until then, the vials will be safely stored in a secure location in an ultra-cold unit. Brady hopes his actions encourages others to also get the vaccine when they can. DHEC reported that nearly 43,000 doses are expected in the state by tomorrow.
