Supreme Court Rejects Recent Election Lawsuit Brought by Trump Administration

The Supreme Court’s latest ruling dealt a harsh blow to President Trump’s efforts at overturning the election results. The president has been certain for months that cases brought before the high court would favor him but that doesn’t appear to be holding up. His administration was looking to block the certification of Pennsylvania’s vote, claiming they violated their state’s constitution by allowing more people to vote by mail-in. The appeal was denied in a single-sentence order with no noted dissents. The Trump Campaign also lost cases in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada yesterday. But the fight is still not over as Texas has now sued several of those battleground states on allegations of fraud. They’ve also asked for a delay in the Electoral College vote scheduled for next Monday, but law experts say it’s unlikely to be approved. With Safe Harbor day come and gone, the president’s chances of winning lessens. It’s unclear how many, but it’s believed a majority of states met yesterday’s certification deadline ahead of the official vote.
