William Barr Reportedly Considering Leaving Position as Attorney General
Attorney General William Barr is reportedly considering leaving his post before the presidential inauguration in January. A source close to Barr has alleged the attorney general is unhappy with the recent controversy surrounding him and President Trump. Shortly after he announced the Department of Justice had so far found no evidence of widespread voter fraud in connection to the 2020 election, Barr met with the president at the White House. It was believed to be very a “lengthy and contentious” meeting. President Trump was not happy with Barr for going against him and it was said he was considering firing him as attorney general. More sources have revealed the president was advised against taking such actions. However, Barr is now contemplating willingly removing himself from his position. Nothing has been made official yet but it’s unlikely Barr would be selected by the Biden transition team to continue into the next term. Neither Barr nor the Justice Department have issued an official comment yet.
