Recent Surge of Covid-19 Cases in South Carolina Worse Than Summer Peak
South Carolina’s latest spike in Covid-19 cases is much worse than what was reported over the summer. The state became one of the nation’s hotspots in July but within the last three days, over 2,450 new cases have been reported which is more than any single day during the summer peak. Saturday also saw the most daily new cases ever with over 2,700. This has led the seven-day average to surpass 2,000 for the first time. Things have gotten so bad that Circuit Court jury trials statewide have once again been suspended for at least the next week.
