Almost All Battleground States Have Now Certified Their Election Results
Almost all major battleground states have now certified their election results. Following Wisconsin’s determination yesterday that President-elect Joe Biden won by over 20,000 votes, came Arizona’s certification. Biden flipped the longtime Republican stronghold for only the second time in seven decades with about 10,000 votes. Upon hearing the news, President Trump called the state’s Republican governor a “disaster” and questioned his decisions. Despite the backlash, the state leader continues to defend the integrity of their election. The electoral college is set to cast their official votes December 14th. Meanwhile, President-elect Biden continues to name Cabinet members but the process is still an uphill battle. His most recent pick for head of the Office of Management and Budget is Neera Tanden. Republicans already strongly oppose her, believing she’s problematic and too left-leaning. There are also concerns over why Biden has not selected a defense secretary. It’s led many to question his candidates qualifications and their abilities to make tough decisions.
