President-Elect Biden Continues to Name Historic Cabinet Picks

The Biden team has also moved forward with naming their picks to fill key roles in their incoming administration. In another historic move, projected President-elect Joe Biden had named an all female senior communications team at his White House. It will be headed by Kate Bedingfield who served on the Biden Campaign as Communications Director. Jen Psoki, who served President Barack Obama as his White House Communications Director, was also named as this administration’s press secretary. Of the seven women named to the roles, four are women of color. Moving full steam ahead, Biden also began naming his economic cabinet picks. Janet Yellen was tapped for Secretary of Treasury with Wally Adeyemo acting as Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. If confirmed, Yellen will be the first woman to serve in the position, whereas Adeyemo will become the first black person to serve in hers. Neera Tanden has also been picked for Director of the Office of Management and Budget. More selections will be announced throughout the week.
