U.S. Covid-19 Hospitalizations Break Record for 15th Consecutive Day
More than 2,100 Covid-19 related deaths occurred yesterday in the U.S. marking it as the deadliest single-day toll since April. Within the last three weeks, new infections have also not dropped below 100,000 and have averaged around 172,000 cases a day this week, nearly double the numbers reported in October. For the 15th consecutive day, the U.S. has also beat its own Covid-19 hospitalization record. As of yesterday, over 88,000 people were now receiving treatment, the highest number the nation has ever witnessed. Hospitals are currently running out of staff, beds, and even morgue space as cases skyrocket out of control. It’s actualizing the very real fear of our healthcare system being completely overwhelmed. Despite warnings being issued and restrictions being put into place, millions of Americans are still traveling this Thanksgiving. Experts have predicted if family gatherings lead to super spreader events this year, the next few weeks will be extremely devastating to the country. Fortunately, states are simultaneously preparing for the distribution of the first vaccine sometime around mid-December.
