SpaceX Capsule Carrying NASA Crew Successfully Docks at International Space Station

SpaceX’s newly launched capsule carrying the four NASA astronauts safely docked at the International Space Station. The Dragon capsule’s 27-hour flight from the Florida Kennedy Space Center Sunday evening ended late last night. The official link up occurred approximately 262 miles above Idaho. This is now the second astronaut mission completed successfully by SpaceX, but the first to deliver a full crew for a half-year station stay. The first mission consisted of two test pilots who only stayed for two months. This time, the astronauts will stay through April. They will then be replaced by a different crew on another Dragon flight and so on as NASA and SpaceX hope this space taxi service becomes a regular occurrence. The newly arrived astronauts will join one American and two other Russian astronauts who arrived last month. The crews are expected to work on a variety of science experiments as well as conduct space walks to update and repair the Space Station’s exterior.
