President-Elect Joe Biden Becomes Projected Winner of Arizona
Last night, President-elect Joe Biden was officially projected to win the state of Arizona. This is the second time in seven decades the long-time Republican stronghold has turned blue and it’s largely attributed to John McCain and his legacy across the state. The former Arizona senator passed away in 2018 and shortly after, President Trump came out publicly criticizing him. Cindy McCain, John’s wife, then also added fuel to the fire when she endorsed Biden despite being a life long Republican. The current electoral votes come to 290 for President-elect Biden and 217 for President Trump. Now only two states are left undecided. North Carolina will most likely remain a red state, but Georgia is still predicted to favor Biden. They have issued a by-hand recount of their over 5 million votes only to ensure the public’s confidence in the results. The Trump legal team is still challenging ballots in court but are struggling to find evidence. A group of national, state and private election officials said yesterday that this year’s election was the most secure in history.
