Senate Evenly Tied as Georgia Enters Pivotal Run-Off Race

As several states enter those recounts, the fate of the Senate remains up in the air. Democrats maintained control of the House, but lost a decent amount of incumbents and challengers to Republicans. Now all eyes are turned to the Senate which is tied 48 to 48. Democrats did not anticipate such an evenly matched turnout, especially after pouring millions of dollars into Senate races. Currently, less than a handful of seats remain too close to call in several states. Ballots in North Carolina and Alaska are still being counted. North Carolina appears to be leaning right but Alaska is still only reporting less than 50%, which does not include mail-in ballots. This means there’s a chance Alaska could still flip blue. But the state most people are talking about is Georgia. They have two Senate seats that will enter a run-off on January 5th. This could determine who gains control of the Senate and if it’s Democrats, they will have to the opportunity to support President-elect Biden’s agenda without much objection.
