U.S. Reports Record-Breaking 100,000 Single-Day New Covid-19 Cases

As chaos ensued amid the election count yesterday, the U.S. also hit over 104,000 new Covid-19 cases in a single day. This is yet another record-breaking high not only in the U.S., but globally. It also shattered the nation’s previous record set less than a week ago. Within the last week, a total of over 600,000 new cases have been reported. The final numbers now stand at almost 9.6 million infections with the death toll surpassing more than 235,000 people. Hospitalizations are also still surging across the mid and southwest, repeatedly setting new daily records and only getting worse as hospitals reach capacity. Missouri, Oklahoma, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Mexico and Texas are the states being most heavily impacted. Health officials are saying regardless of the outcome of the presidential election, Americans need to “buckle down”. They predict by the time our next president is officially sworn in, 100,000 more lives will likely be lost. Worldwide, there have been over 4.81 million cases and over 1.23 million deaths.
