Trump, Biden Both Feel Confident as Votes Continue to be Counted
Both presidential candidates believe they could be victorious as the election results slowly narrow in the final few states. As it stands, former Vice President Joe Biden has 253 electoral votes with President Trump still showing 213. Yesterday saw both Michigan and Wisconsin flipping sides, with Arizona likely to do the same. Also unexpected, was how tight the race turned out to be in Georgia. President Trump had a sizable lead election day, however it’s shrunk to less than .4% now as the final mail-in votes from densely populated, mostly democratic areas are tallied. It’s likely we will know a winner by today as Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia intend to declare their results. Yesterday, Biden addressed the nation with a hopeful message. President Trump has not given an official statement since election night, however his administration has been extremely active. They’ve now filed lawsuits in Wisconsin and Michigan demanding recounts. They’re also threatening to do the same in Pennsylvania, Nevada and Georgia. They, too, feel confident about winning.
