Suspect Named, Arrested in Connection to Stolen Shrimp Boat
UPDATE: Janowski has been taken into custody. He was spotted on a dinghy preparing to board a boat near Georgetown harbor by a deputy and a S.C. Department of Natural Resources officer. He has been charged with stealing the shrimp boat, as well as possession of a stolen vehicle that was recovered from the parking lot of the marina.
A suspect has been identified in connection to the theft of a shrimp boat in Murrells Inlet. Early in the morning on Halloween, a boat belonging to business owner Charlie Werner was reported stolen from the Marlin Quay Marina. “Lila Lee” was recovered about a day later and now according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Daniel Janowski is wanted for the theft. It’s believed he is also wanted in connection to possessing a stolen vehicle in Colorado.
