Still No Clear Winner in Highly Divided Presidential Race Following Election Day

Still no decision has been made in the highly contested 2020 presidential election as 8 crucial states remain up for grabs. Presently, the numbers stand with former Vice President Joe Biden in the lead at 227 electoral votes and President Trump with 213. Biden also appears to be leading in the popular vote. When the president spoke early this morning, he expressed disappointment and reiterated claims the election has been fraudulent and called for an appeal by the Supreme Court to stop the counting, which is unlikely. Still, the president remains cautiously optimistic about where he stands. Biden issued similar hopeful sentiments for his supporters, as well. But there are still millions of ballots that have yet to be counted and the race could swing either way. As experts have predicted, it could be days before we know who the winner is. Still at stake is Arizona, Alaska, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and pivotal Pennsylvania. And even then, the candidates are most likely going to demand recounts in certain areas, seeing as the election is just that close. Up until early this afternoon, Maine was also at stake but they have since declared their results, favoring Biden.
