South Carolina State, Local Election Results Produce Various Winners

Other results from races within South Carolina have begun to trickle in. In Florence, Democrat Teresa Myers Ervin is set to become the city’s first female and the first African-American mayor. This also is the first time the city has had a new mayor in over a decade. Representative Tom Rice of Myrtle Beach also claimed his fifth term in the U.S. House. In Columbia, the states longest-serving congressman was also reelected. House Majority and Democrat Whip Jim Clyburn will now enter into his 15th term.
