Cities Nationwide Brace Themselves for Election Night Results

Cities across the nation are bracing for potential unrest, no matter what the results of the election are tonight. Already up to 10,000 protesters intend to gather along Black Lives Matter plaza near the White House tonight. But authorities in D.C. are working hard to minimize chaos and destruction. Crews worked into the night erecting the protective, non-scalable fence along the perimeter of the White House. The rest of D.C. has also taken precautions by boarding up the windows and doors of businesses and other buildings. Similar scenes have been reported in New York, Portland, Denver and more. In LA, the county sheriff has promised a “zero tolerance” policy for any looting or rioting that may occur this week. Officers across numerous states have already been working tireless hours without time off. More than 3,600 National Guard troops have also been deployed to at least 16 states with more on standby. It appears citizens are also preparing themselves. Compared to this time last year, firearm sales have surged almost 65%.
