U.S. Continues to See Record-Breaking New Covid-19 Cases Nationwide
The U.S. experienced a record-breaking 7-day average of new daily Covid-19 cases last week. We also surpassed the previous high for new cases reported in a single day on Friday and Saturday with over 83,000 new cases recorded. Those numbers appeared to dip back down yesterday but they still stood around a staggering 69,000. It now brings the nationwide count to over 8.6 million cases and more than 225,000 deaths, with 43 states seeing upward trends. Health experts say the deadly third wave is here and it could still get worse. On top of all this, there’s also been another
coronavirus breakout in the White House. At least five aids close to Vice President Mike Pence have tested positive within the last few days and there are serious concerns more will become sick. It’s reported the vice president and his wife tested negative for the virus yesterday. However, it was several days before White House officials such as Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnenay were diagnosed during the first wave. Despite all this, the vice president refuses to quarantine.
