Sen. Lindsey Graham Causes Controversy After Second SC Senate Debate Called Off
Friday night’s second Senate debate was cancelled after Senator Lindsey Graham refused to take a Covid-19 test. The event was to be held in Spartanburg but was called off after opponent Jaime Harrison threatened not to attend unless Graham took a test prior to. His request was not entirely outlandish since Graham has been potentially exposed following the outbreak at the White House. But Graham refused to comply, accusing Harrison of “demanding special treatment”. The two instead held individual forums to answer voter’s questions where Graham further stirred tensions. He’s now being heavily criticized for saying live on TV that “If you’re a young African American, an immigrant, you can go anywhere in this state. You just need to be conservative, not liberal.”
