Body Found in Search for Missing University of South Carolina Student
A body has been found in the search for a University of South Carolina student. 19-year-old Samuel Laundon was last seen Saturday at the Vulcan Materials Company Quarry in Columbia. He and some friends got lost and Laundon jumped a fence “in hopes of reaching his destination faster.” A body was then recovered yesterday evening in some shrubbery by the quarry. Authorities have declined to confirm the victim’s identity, nor their cause of death, until after an autopsy is performed but it’s believed the victim found matches Laundon’s description.
