Pence, Harris Evenly Matched During Civil Vice Presidential Debate
Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence hit the stage last night in their first and only debate. Here’s a portion from the evening regarding their views on a Covid-19 vaccine…Harris started out the evening strong with her sharp criticisms of the Trump Administration’s handling of the pandemic. This was only matched by Pence’s persistence at getting the last word in on almost any topic discussed. Each side had memorable moments but both candidates were also guilty of evading questions, with Pence deflecting around the topic of abortion and climate change, and Harris skirting around the issue of court packing in light of the Supreme Court vacancy. Their mostly civil banter was a stark contrast from what we witnessed last week. In the end, experts say the debate was pretty evenly matched. Although it appears Harris is polling slightly ahead of Pence. However, the public seemed to agree the real winner was the fly that landed on Pence’s head. It was trending on Twitter last night after only a few minutes.
