Pelosi Questions Trump’s Ability to Lead While Receiving Covid-19 Treatments
Following the announcement regarding stimulus talks, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi questioned the effects of the Covid-19 treatments on President Trump’s cognitive abilities. He’s currently receiving a mixture of several intense drugs reserved for usually the sickest of patients as he recovers from the virus. This includes the drug dexamethasone, which is an anti-inflammatory steroid. Preliminary studies in the UK have shown positive results when treating Covid. But, according to the FDA, this drug alone can cause vertigo, new or worsening diabetes, psychic disorders and severe mood swings. It’s believed during a conference call with other Democrats yesterday, Pelosi expressed concerns that the extreme side effects may be impacting the president’s ability to lead. However, Dr. Brian Garibaldi, who’s a specialist in pulmonary critical care, said President Trump did not exhibit any of these symptoms following his first round of treatments on Saturday. The president’s other doctors further assured he’s showing improvements daily.
