Parents Voice Frustration Over Horry County Schools Virtual Learning Program
Over 3,000 Horry County students have been approved for in-person learning and are headed back to the classroom this week. Every student who requested the transfer from virtual to in-person learning was confirmed. However, the school district is still receiving backlash for favoring in-person learning rather than fixing their extremely flawed virtual program. During a recent public board meeting, many frustrated parents criticized the district, claiming the material is unstructured, unstable, and more expensive in some ways. Parents even went so far as to say their children are teaching themselves. Per the Horry County Schools board policy, members did not respond during the meeting.
