Woman Arrested After Attempting to Send Letter to President Trump Containing Poison
A woman is now in custody after attempting to send a letter to President Trump containing poison. Law enforcement reportedly intercepted a package sometime last week that was addressed to the president. Tests were performed to confirm the letter contained the toxin ricin. It’s a compound extracted from castor beans that has been used before in terror plots and has no known antidote. It can come in multiple forms and ingestion leads to nausea, vomiting and internal bleeding of the stomach and intestines. This is followed by failure of the liver, spleen and kidneys, and finally death by collapse of the circulatory system.
The FBI, Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service were investigating the letter’s origins, which were believed to have come from Quebec, Canada. Their suspicions were confirmed after they apprehended the female suspect as she attempted to enter New York state from the Canadian border. She was also found carrying a gun. U.S. prosecutors in Washington, DC will announce charges against her soon.
