Dangerous Conway Intersection to Undergo Multiple Safety Changes

Safety changes are coming to a Conway intersection after hundreds of people have been injured in vehicle collisions. The intersection of Highway 501 and East Cox Ferry Rd saw 262 traffic collisions between 2015 and 2020. During those accidents, 222 people were injured. After years of demands, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety will now implement numerous changes. This includes more preventative signage, widening the road, and a change in traffic lights. They’re also looking to increase police presence in the area to increase awareness at the intersection.
