Parents Voice Complaints Over Horry County Schools Virtual Learning Program
There have been some complaints made following a new announcement from Horry County Schools. The board decided to allow parents the opportunity to switch their children from online to in-person learning for a limited time. The option to do so will be available starting today through Sunday. Some people were delighted by the news, especially families struggling to provide students with the proper tools needed for virtual learning. However, there are others who are upset because they do not want their children to attend in person at all. They believe the district is focusing too heavily on in-person lessons and have let their virtual curriculum severely fall behind. Some parents claim their children are practically teaching themselves.
If you are interested in transferring your student(s) to in-person learning, you can do so by accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
