GA Sheriff’s Deputy Fired After Caught on Camera Using Excessive Force

Meanwhile a deputy in Georgia has been fired after he was caught on camera using excessive force. We would like to warn you that some of the images we’re about to show may be disturbing. Sheriff’s deputies in the Atlanta area pulled over a vehicle for an alleged broken rear light. 26-year-old Roderick Walker was a passenger in the vehicle at the time with his girlfriend and two young kids. When the officers asked for an ID, Walker questioned them which led to an altercation that ended in his violent arrest. The footage shows two deputies holding Walker down while a third repeatedly punches him in the face. It’s believed Walker bit an officer before going unconscious twice. He was then taken into custody and charged with two counts of battery and two counts of obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers. It’s unclear if he was released on bond. The deputy who hit him has since been terminated for using excessive force. The Clayton County District Attorney’s Office is now investigating while Walker recovers in the hospital.
