President Trump Says he “Downplayed” Coronavirus in Bob Woodward Recording

Shocking on-the-record audio tapings of President Trump were released yesterday by journalist Bob Woodward. That recording was made March 19th as part of a series of interviews Trump gave Woodward between early December of 2019 through this July. Woodward also happens to be the same journalist who broke the Watergate scandal. In other recordings, the president acknowledged Covid-19 was more contagious, more easily transmitted, and more deadly than the flu. It’s also believed he was issued crucial warnings about the virus during top secret intelligence briefings held as early as January. However, when addressing the public, he purposefully “downplayed the threat” so as not to create a panic. Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was grilled by the press and she defended the president by saying “he has never lied” and remains transparent with the American people. The president also gave a formal statement this morning adding it’s his job to remain calm and that he did act upon the warnings he received. All this comes just five days before Woodward’s new tell-all book “Rage” is set to be released.
