SC DMV to Require Eye Exams Prior to License Renewal Starting October

The South Carolina DMV has new requirements for renewing driver’s licenses. Starting October 1st, those who wish to renew must present their result from a recent an eye exam or undergo an exam at the department prior to approval. There will be an option to send your results electronically but they must have received their exam from a South Carolina licensed ophthalmologist or optometrist. Out of state providers will need to complete a paper version.
