Police Search for Suspect Who Abandoned Car Near Murrells Inlet After Pursuit

The Georgetown County Sheriffs Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a suspect on the run. Horry County police attempted to pull over a man for reckless driving last night which led to a vehicle pursuit into Georgetown County. The suspect then abandoned his car off Wesley Road near Murrells Inlet. He took off on foot into the woods. He’s described as African American, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He’s not considered a safety threat but residents are still warned to lock their doors and vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to call the GCSO at 843-546-5102.
