SC Highway Patrol Seeking Information on Fatal Hit and Run

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in relation to a hit and run in Longs. The incident occurred over the weekend while a vehicle was traveling south on SC 9 one evening when it struck a motorcyclist from behind before driving off. The victim was later identified as 54-year-old Charles Mechling from Little River. SCHP troopers still don’t know the make and model of the suspect vehicle but believe damage may have been done to the front end and hood area. They ask anyone with information to call them.
